Hideki NAKAZAWA, an artist, published "Method painting, Method poem, Method music (Methodicism Manifesto)" under the observation of a poet and a musician, on January 1, 2000, and observed the publication of "Second Methodicism Manifesto" on January 1, 2001.
He claims that there exists so-called logical color, even if you discard actual color such as blue or red or yellow (physiological color). In fact, he has already exhibited series of works made of letters or go-stones regarding them as "color pixels" -- although black and white apparently, they are "color paintings" in their structure. He has been presenting reductonism works which should be pursued even today calling them "Method Painting."

Works that will be exhibited in the exhibition at Roentgen Kunstraum:
(1) Wall prints of "color paintings" made of chemical symbols for elements and prime numbers.
(2) A new work of a series of "single curved line," which is a reduction of the essence of "sculpture" to the issue of line
(3) A new series of "mass" that treats multitudinousness and oneness.

Works that will be exhibited in the exhibition at Gallery Cellar:
In addition to the above (2), (3), and old works,
(4) New works of a series "money amount" that treats multitudinousness and oneness.

Also, Hideki NAKAZAWA took part in the 6th Kitakyushu Biennale "The Beginning of Things" which was held until March 25, 2001. And his book "The lives of the Western painters" was published on April 23. The main points of this book are the dualism of color and form which has been spread through the Western art history, and the aspect of art history that will finally come to the tautology. They are the very things that NAKAZAWA pursues in his works consistently.

An event will be held on every opening day.
